Deputies Seek Jail Work Center Escapees
Marion Co. Sheriff’s Office – 03/13/10

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has issued wanted bulletins for two inmates who failed to return to the Jail Work Center following three-hour passes.

Inmates of the Work Center earn the privilege to attend to personal matters, arrange for employment after their release, or visit family for a limited amount of time if they have displayed responsibility by working on a County work crew and have met all conditions of the Work Center.

David Torres, 32, whose last known address was 444 45th Avenue, SE in Salem, is serving time on a conviction of Vehicular Attempt to Elude and Possession of Methamphetamine. He was due to return to the Work Center at 11:00am, Saturday morning, but failed to report as required. Torres had an expected release date of 08/09/10.

Felipe Morales Jr., is serving time for a conviction on Assault 4 charges. He was due to return to the Work Center at 7:00pm, Friday evening, but failed to report. His last known address was 7552 Hyacinth, Salem. Morales was due to be released from the jail on 01/16/11.

There is no obvious connection between the two inmates. In addition to serving out their original sentences, both will face escape charges when captured.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of either Torres or Morales should call 911.
