Three men were arrested Thursday afternoon north of Bend during an Oregon State Police (OSP) traffic stop after they were found in
possession of over one pound of Cocaine and more than two ounces of Marijuana. The OSP Drug Enforcement Section is continuing the investigation.According to OSP Sergeant Eric Brown, on November 4, 2010 at approximately 3:00 p.m. an OSP trooper stopped a privately owned cargo style truck on Highway 97 near milepost 132 after observing it drift into another lane nearly striking a vehicle. During the traffic stop the driver was identified as JUAN PABLO BUCIO PEREZ, age 20, from Yakima, Washington. The two passengers were identified as JOSE CERVANTES-CUEVAS, age 20, from Yakima, and ANTONIO CASTANEDA PATINO, age 33, from Santana, California.
Subsequent investigation during the traffic stop, with the assistance of a Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office deputy and drug detection canine, led to the discovery of approximately 1.1 lbs. of Cocaine and 2.75 ounces of Marijuana inside the vehicle. Estimated value of the seized Cocaine is about $15,000.
The three men were taken into custody and lodged in the Deschutes County Jail on the following charges:
