E-Verify Victory in Supreme Court -Call Congress Must Pass Everify

Now Our Victory in U.S. Supreme Court Changes Everything! Now Congress Under Great Pressure to Pass Mandatory E-Verify Nationwide Help NumbersUSA Cross the Finish Line on Stopping Illegal Immigration

Last week we won one of our biggest victories EVER at NumbersUSA! (Once again, we relied on the generous support of our donors. Thank you!)

In the case of Chamber of Commerce v. Whiting, the Supreme Court ruled that states can revoke the licenses of businesses that do not use the federal E-Verify database to keep illegal aliens out of U.S. jobs. This means that the 13 states that already require at least some employers to use E-Verify are free to enforce those requirements. The ruling also paves the way for additional states to make their own E-Verify laws, helping to free up the estimated 7 million U.S. jobs that are currently held by illegal aliens for American citizens and legal residents. Six months ago, I asked our NumbersUSA members to stand behind us as we hired special legal counsel to defend the State of Arizona as it was being sued by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and U.S. Justice Department. Well, the result of your donations was one of the most successful court rulings to significantly address illegal immigration in our lifetime. This ruling is a perfect example of how we apply your donations in the most effective way possible! The open-borders coalition is sure to use the Supreme Court’s decision as motivation to increase their already powerful lobbying pressure on Capitol Hill and the Administration. We’ll need more contributions to help counter the millions of dollars behind the pro amnesty movement, but we’ll need your support to make this happen. If you can, please contribute. In fact, the pro-amnesty voices in the Administration helped shape the opinion that states could not enforce immigration law using the federal E-Verify database. We disagreed and hired a specialized attorney to write an amicus brief to file with the Court with our arguments. And by a 5-3 margin, the Supreme Court agreed with us, that businesses can have their licenses revoked for knowingly hiring illegal aliens. Now this victory sets the tone for an E-Verify standoff in Congress starting this summer! You know we at NumbersUSA have been a champion of both state and federal mandatory E-Verify legislation for years. Guess what? I think national E-Verify can happen — this year. When NumbersUSA held its 4th Annual Spring Symposium for our most generous supporters this month, Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX), Chairman of the House Judiciary, spoke to us and said our forces are very close to victory. He’s determined to “move” legislation this year to make federal E-Verify mandatory. (Want to hear him yourself? We have prepared a 13-minute video highlight reel. To watch this fascinating video on your computer, click the link on the thank you page.) Click to Donate Now At our Spring Symposium, we had a lot more encouragement about mandatory E-Verify. Rep. Heath Shuler (D-NC) explained what he was doing to make E-Verify into law. (He’s on the highlight reel too.) This symposium was our best ever. Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach talked about his work in assisting states like Arizona, Georgia and Missouri to tighten their laws concerning illegal aliens. (He’s on the reel.) Rep. Steve King (R-IA) told a hilarious story about President Obama and the moat on the El Paso section of the Southern border. Plus, NumbersUSA President Roy Beck explains how this year is fundamentally different from every other year since our founding 15 years ago. (All on the highlight reel.) Paul, we’re so close to victory in many areas. We’ve got the pro-amnesty forces on the run! Don’t let up on your financial support when we’re winning. We can’t let up in our efforts and see the other side regain ground. Click to Donate Now There are four ways to give: 1) On-line credit card (we take all major cards). You’ll get the link for the video on the thank you page; 2) Give by PayPal. We’ll email you the video link. 3) Check — see the instructions and a form to print out and send with your check. Huge Mexican Fake Green Card Ring on Trial Manassas

Manassas man key player in fake-ID card ring

By Dana Hedgpeth, Published: May 6

Illegal immigrants in Northern Virginia knew where to go if they needed a high-quality fake green card or Social Security card: They found Eulalio A. Cruz.

From his Manassas home, Cruz, 33, sent cellphone photos of customers to his computer. He’d add addresses and birth dates, used the right kind of ink, and printed the fakes on card stock with holographic images. Sets of documents went for $120 a pop. He’d use a series of runners to make the exchanges.

Federal immigration officials say that Cruz, who this week pleaded guilty to racketeering in federal court in Richmond, was a key player in one of the largest and most sophisticated document mills they have uncovered. His Manassas operation was part of 19 that ran in 11 states, stretching from Nashville to Providence, R.I., officials said. Each year, the ring produced between 10,000 and 15,000 fake documents. They wired at least $1 million to the bosses in Mexico.

As the federal and state governments continue to crack down on illegal immigration, such document mills are becoming a growing obstacle. Immigrants, seeking to skirt local and national laws, need the documents to work and drive. Cruz’s ring turned to violence, prosecutors said, to protect its turf from rivals, just as drug dealers have done for decades.

Authorities say the ring Cruz worked for was unique. Far more sophisticated and productive than most of the mom and pop shops selling fake documents, it operated under a strict chain of command, covered a large geographic area and produced realistic counterfeits.

“It was very much like a legitimate business,” said James C. Spero, deputy assistant director for the Homeland Security Investigations division of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. “If you worked hard, you could work your way up higher in the organization.”

Cruz, prosecutors say, reported directly to the “national supervisor” on the U.S. side of the operation: Israel Cruz Millan, who was known by his Spanish nickname “El Muerto,” which means “the dead one.” Millan is awaiting trial.

Based in North Carolina, Millan was part chief operating officer, part enforcer, authorities say. He held regular conference calls and insisted that cell managers submit detailed inventory lists of their ink cartridges, paper and other supplies, prosecutors allege. Managers provided biweekly sales reports. One note from Nashville showed $4,150 in proceeds and $1,684 in expenses.

Each cell’s success depended heavily on runners who sought out customers at grocery stores, laundromats and bars, authorities said. Sometimes they even passed out business cards advertising their services.

Proceeds were divided up. Runners, who were expected to deliver seven to 10 customers a week, typically got a few hundred dollars, attorneys involved in the case said. Managers got a fixed salary of between $300 and $400 a week. Millan took a cut, and the rest of the money went to Mexico.

The cells used code names to hide their activity. Social Security cards, printed in blue ink, were known as “smurfs,” authorities said. “New ones” meant a customer wanted a green card. They called the business cards “18s,” because that’s how many fit on a sheet.

Workers who didn’t follow the boss’s strict protocol or didn’t sell enough fake documents were punished, federal officials said. They were spanked, had their eyebrows shaved or were forced to wear weights.

Stealing from the organization was the “ultimate no-no,” one prosecutor said.

In October, Millan hosted a conference call with managers from across the country, according to court papers. He told them that one worker had pocketed the proceeds from selling fake Social Security cards. Millan beat the man so the group could hear his screams, authorities said.

“The point was to say, ‘I’m in charge. Nobody steals from me and this organization, or this is what will happen to you,’ ” said Neil H. MacBride, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, whose office is prosecuting the case.

The group also turned to violence to protect its turf.

In 2009, members of the ring posed as customers buying fake identification cards from competitors and arranged to meet them at a house in Richmond, according to court papers. They bound the men’s hands, feet and mouth with duct tape and beat them with a bat, authorities say. One of Millan’s crew put the barrel of a gun in one man’s mouth and warned him to stay out of their selling area.

In Little Rock, authorities said, a competitor was left for dead after a group working for Millan lured the man and one of his partners to an abandoned trailer, where they were attacked and beaten.

“They resorted to brutal, ruthless violence to support the criminal enterprise,” MacBride said.

Federal agents said they received a tip about Millan’s document ring and moved in in November in an effort involving about 250 officers in nearly a dozen states.

In all, 27 people were arrested on a range of charges including making and selling false documents, gun possession, racketeering, kidnapping, and, in one case, murder. Sixteen people, including Cruz, pleaded guilty in connection with the ring. Two defendants are fugitives in Mexico.

Millan is expected to go on trial later this year.

In Cruz’s Manassas home, authorities found more than 100 fraudulent documents as well as printing equipment, card stock with holographic images and “18s.”

  • Feds bust fake green card ring in S.A.Texas

If someone tells you they are here legally I wouldnt believe them unless they could produce the paperwork cause it only takes about a hundred dollars to have a green card and a social security card in Open borders USA

  • December 20, 2010

Federal agents have shut down a source for immigrants illegal aliens seeking fake “green cards” and Social Security cards in San Antonio.

A five-month investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement netted the arrests Friday of two local men after they sold some of the faux documents to undercover agents, court records show.

Felipe DeJesus Coronel Pacheco, 55, and Luis Angel Tovar Cisneros, 38, are charged with making false alien registration receipt cards (commonly known as green cards), and conspiracy.

Authorities say Coronel manufactured the cards and that Tovar took orders and delivered the finished product. A package — a fake Social Security card and green card cost $160, according to a criminal complaint affidavit filed against the men.

Immigrants usually met with Tovar, who would instruct them to bring photos and biographical information with them to a pre-arranged location. The undercover agents met with Tovar on July 9, Nov. 16 and Dec. 7 to buy documents. They also watched Tovar, who would meet with Coronel to place orders and get the documents.

Agents raided Tovar’s apartment in the 100 block of Andrews and Coronel’s home in the 500 block of Sumner and recovered other fake green cards, a fake Social Security card, laminating pouches, computers, printers and a laminating machine, the affidavit said

Coronel admitted to agents to making the documents and Tovar admitted to selling 25 packages recently, the complaint said.

Coronel is scheduled for a bail hearing Tuesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Nancy Nowak. Tovar is scheduled for his hearing next Tuesday

Five Mexican Illegals Rosas, Reyes-Reyes,Ramirez-Yanez ,Macias-Alejo ICE Busted for Fake Social Security Card Green Card Ring Anaheim California

every year fake id rings get busted and every year more appear because it’s racist to have borders and racist to ask illegals for their papers. This happened in 2008 and it was during Schwarzenegger’s reign.

SANTA ANA – Five men appeared in federal court Wednesday to face charges that they made and sold counterfeit identity and immigration documents, authorities said.

The five men, all Mexican nationals in the United States illegally, were arrested Tuesday by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and Anaheim police officers, ICE officials said.

Luis Rosas, 32, of Anaheim, Guillermo Ramirez-Yanez, 43, of Anaheim, Geraldo Reyes-Reyes, 40, of Fullerton, Jose Albert Reyes-Garcia, 19, of Fullerton; and Marcelo Macias-Alejo, 37, face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Officials served search warrants at a video store in Anaheim and at a home in Anaheim.

According to investigators, the men met their customers at the video store and collected payment, then sent someone on bicycle to the house on Clementine Street to order and then deliver the counterfeit documents. The group charged $70 for a set of documents that included a fake Social Security card and green card, officials said.

Officials reported that they seized counterfeit documents, computers, printers, digital cameras, a laminating machine and $1,000.

In 2005, immigration officials broke up a counterfeit document ring operating out of the same strip mall.

tuebor2- Too a certain extent, law enforcement likes seeing the matricular consular cards when they arrest someone who is foreign born. It is an immediate notification that they are dealing with an illegal alien since U.S. citizens and lawful prmanent residents don’t carry them, they don’t need to. The cops then let the deputies or ICE agents at the county jail know that the alien is illegal and an ICE detainer gets lodged to get them deported after their case. It is, however, quite unfortunate that the alien has to commit crime first to get nabbed.

Currently there is a bill AB 2076 in the California State Senate to stop E-verify in this state. Call your state senators and governor and ask them to vote NO on AB 2076. There are thousands of bogus Social Security numbers and drivers licenses out there and the state wants to stop E-verify.

Also bogus Matricul Consular cards should not be used as legal ID, its not in Mexico. A few months ago two Mexicans were arrested in Lake Forest and they both had two Matricula Consular cards each with different names on them.

What about the hidden story? Since most of these criminals are in their 30’s and 40’s, I suspect there are children involved. Is it now the American Taxpayer’s responsbility to provide for these Mexican criminal’s children.

Even if we taxpayers pay for food, housing, health care and education I think we can have serious long-term issues. With dads in jail and moms that also make poor choices it seems that the children have a higher probability of being and gangs or becoming criminals as well.

We need to enforce our immigration laws and we have to stop thinking of deporting families to their ‘home countries’ as Racist or unjust. Mexican’s have a wonderful culture so there should be no shame when these Illegal Immigrant families are forced to go ‘Home’.

Why do people south of the border think they have a right to be here illegally and drain the system and use a fake ssn just because they have the same answer ” we work hard and do the jobs most people dont” when the rest of the world come here legally and get the jobs they want with better pay

And not pay the taxes Americans have to pay….and not have to pay auto insurance Americans have to pay.

What about all the immigrants who came here legally is it really fair to them that they had to go thru the process but this illegals have a free ride because they found a hole in the fence?

These are hard-workin’ immigrants who just want to do the jobs Americans won’t.

If there are people enter this county illegally, they’re certainly not going to follow laws once they’re here. They’ll do anything and everything they can to get money and don’t give a hoot about who they may hurt in the process. They understand that our justice system is so lenient that it’s a joke, so why not try.

The website Radar Online first reported the hire, saying it received a letter from the firm challenging “unflattering reports” about the housekeeper.

Saltz told The Associated Press there is no plan to file litigation at this time. He declined further comment.

Schwarzenegger acknowledged fathering a child with a former household employee.

The woman has been identified as Baena by The New York Times and other media.
